Interview with Tiffany from “Birth In Joy”

I blog mainly to educate my friends and women in general about normal birth, how a doula can benefit them, and how to make truly informed decisions regarding their birth experiences. Another reason I blog is to chronicle my personal experiences as a birth doula.

I had a personal blog for about a year or so before this. I deleted it in order to complete my training as a doula, and have started this new blog as a way to put my name out there for women interested in my service as a labor doula.

I blog about all things birth-related. I share articles, statistics, and personal stories.

Birth Ecology Project, CAPPA Blog, The Trial of Labor. These are all excellent resources!

I. Love. Comments. And replying to them!

Yes. I found out recently that many of the gals I go to church with know me as the “birth lady”, and have started reading both my personal blog and my doula blog.

I pretty much stick to my yahoo doula groups.

I probably spend about 20 hours each week reading & writing blogs, but since I am now a “working” doula, I need the time in order to keep current on the birth industry and the latest information. I do my best to make it a point to wait for my four kiddos to be sleeping, though.

First of all, I am inspired by birth, and by the God who created birth. I am in absolute awe of the entire process! While I know there are legitimate reasons for interventions, I believe firmly that there is nothing wrong with God’s design for birth, and that if women knew ALL the facts, most would choose to birth naturally with the support of other women. My four births were my most spiritual experiences in my life, and are what taught me the true meaning of sacrifice & unconditional love.

Only my personal blog: The Faery Inn.
