I love to connect with other moms/women regarding subjects that are familiar to me such as parenting, mom time, milestones, discipline, etc. Sharing ideas, frustrations, and tips have gotten me through many rough periods, and I believe I have helped other moms in the process.
I just recently started blogging seriously about a month ago. I have had Mommies Faves for quite some time, but have started my own personal blog now, Mother of Pearl It Is, which is a great way for my family and friends to catch up on what’s going on with our family.
On Mommies Faves, I share such things as our #1 Topsite winners for each month, advertising options, giveaways/reviews, contest info, recipes, etc.
Your design is important, you want something that is pleasing to the eye, looks professional, and draws your readers in. However, your content is even more important. And you must be consistent in your blogging. I found that out the hard way when I had to be away for a while. I am putting more effort into my blogging now, and it’s paying off.
I LOVE getting comment luv!! It helps me to know that I have reached someone in one way or another, and the feedback I receive gives me the incentive to “bring more to the table.”
Yes…many of my family and friends check out my blog quite often…..as I do theirs as well.
Yep…I have two of my own, which I will list below. One is a mommy forum, and the other is a skin/graphic design forum.
Sitting at my brand new computer in my bedroom. LOL My kids are old enough now that I can trust them in the living room by themselves…and my bedroom is actually right next door, so I can check in on them frequently. My hubby is “bed-bound” at the moment after a major surgery, so it’s nice to have something productive to do while sitting with him.
I’m ashamed to say….probably more writing than reading. I love reading many of my friends’ blogs, but don’t always have the time to spend. I probably blog about an hour or so a day.
Not too much….I mostly go through my followers blogs to find potential blogs that I enjoy. I also have an account with Blog Frog and McLinky.
A friend of mine started a blog about “365″….a challenge among a group of bloggers to post a new story and/or pic each day of the year. I failed miserably at that challenge. LOL But, now I am back in full swing with 2 new blogs and I love it!
Probably my friend’s blog….the one that introduced me to blogging.
Helping others…..I’ve always been the type of person to give rather than receive, and sometimes to a fault. My mom would tell me at times…..”just say NO!” LOL But, if I can help someone with my own experiences, trials, and triumphs, then it’s all good!
Yes…as I mentioned above, I have a mommy forum called Mom’s the Word. We are now a closed group for current members only, but have been around for about 3 years now. I love all my girls on MTW!
I also have a skin and graphic design forum called Skins Galore and More. We design skins for many of the free forums such as JCink, IPBfree, and Invisionfree, as well as, photo signatures, tags, blog layouts, etc. We provide most of our designs for free, but have other low-cost services and advertising opportunities available.
