Rhinestones & Pine Cones

I am relatively new to the world of blogging but my intention is to blog about things that would be helpful to other moms like me. I like to think that a lot of what I blog about is pertinent to both stay-at-home moms and working moms, and actually I have quite a few fans who are dads as well. Rhinestones and Pine Cones started out as a means to broadcast craft projects and recipes, but it has already developed into something more than that. I have had and will continue to have tidbits and commentary on various subjects that I find relevant and important in my everyday life….faith, fitness, food choices, etc. The beauty of a blog is that it can be whatever you want it to be.

Yes, I have lots of “offline” fans of my blog- mostly people who don’t realize how big the world of blogging is but love to see what my latest musings are. My friends actually initially encouraged me to start a blog…well, technically to write a book but as I don’t know any publishers this seemed a better fit! I was constantly bombarding my girlfriends, neighbors, cousins, and church group with emails detailing my daily musings as a wife and mom, and they always gave me great feedback and started requesting updates if I went too many days without mass emailing an anecdote or made-up recipe or some such. And thus was born Rhinestones and Pine Cones!

I usually blog in my kitchen after my girls are finally pulled off of my legs and asleep in their beds for the night. Most of the time the kitchen sits uncleaned behind me as my Mac sucks the evening away as I try to catch up on the blogs I follow and get something written of my own. And when I “come to” and realize what time it is and how long my husband’s been in bed, I load everything into the dishwasher and leave the rest before quietly taking my place next to DH in our bed….there’s always the morning!
