Interview with Lyric from “Chrysalis Song”
“Chrysalis Song”

Ten years ago I named my business “Chrysalis Consulting”. The name carried appropriate professional meaning, but more importantly, a deeply personal and spiritual meaning.
Webster defines a chrysalis as “a protecting covering: a sheltered state or stage of being or growth.” A caterpillar goes through a process, a “growth stage” before it becomes a beautiful butterfly. That stage is called a “chrysalis.” It is within the chrysalis that growth and differentiation occur.
To the naked eye a chrysalis doesn’t look like much and doesn’t give any evidence to what’s happening inside. However, there’s a very delicate transformation underway that literally changes a funny looking fuzzy caterpillar into a stunning butterfly with colorful, intricately designed wings.
For me, the chrysalis symbolizes how the Father works in ways the eyes cannot see, often through seasons clocked in darkness, bringing about a transformation of His choosing, producing something of such rich beauty and treasure.
So that explains the purpose, design, and description of my blog! It was my one year anniversary in August so this was my way of more closely reflecting my heart and purpose for sharing a piece of life in this forum.
The Father is at work inside this chrysalis. Because of His love and faithfulness I am being given treasures of darkness and finding His riches in secret places. This song of transformation continues to declare that He is my God and I am His child. And it’s a song I want to share.
