Food Ideas - Simple Recipes from Around the World

I started this cooking blog as a way to share my recipes with friends and family as well to collect the recipes with actual measurements as when I cook I just wing it all. This way one day both my daughters will have the family recipes. Meanwhile as I started getting more followers I decided to be a little more serious about my blog, being careful on how to take the photos and am enjoying every second of it.

I started blogging in November of 2009

Actually right now I have 3 (close to 4) blogs going. The main one though food.metroideas.com is about cooking, recipes, ingredients and the love for food in general.

I love reading blogs that have to do with food and recipes of course, along with others about design, the environment, marketing, parenting and health.

WOW… I would have to say, above all have fun with it. Be truthful, take it easy, enjoy reading other people’s blog, get inspired, feel free to ask questions to other bloggers.

Totally! I think that is one of the best parts of blogging. I love when people write comments and I can answer back and start a nice “online” friendship with them.

A few of my family members do read it. A lot of my offline friends also read it, especially when they are looking for a recipe I had made for them and they cannot recall all ingredients and steps.

I do indeed. The ones I check more often are from babycenter.com, thebubbler.com, theblogfrog.com

I blog from home every night once the kids are in bed.

In terms of writing I try to update my blogs at least 2 to 3 times a week. I read blogs on a daily basis, I would say about 1 to 2 hours a day.

I usually find blogs through blog networks I am part of, such as theblogfrog.com, blogcatalog.com halfhourmeals.com and forums I am part of.

Actually I cannot recall, but I know it has been over 6 years as the company I worked for at the time had a blog as well as a dear friend of mine.

I sincerely cannot recall.

My children above all. The environment, ingredients, certain people I am close with, the beauty of each place I have lived in or pass by.

I do indeed. Personally I have food.metroideas.com, community.metroideas.com (a blog about my perspectives of where I live), soon another blog about design and marketing (to be urban.metroideas.com)

As I am a designer I have designed quite a few sites such as my parents place in Portugal http://www.quinta-riotouro.com, a friend clown in NC http://www.corkymagic.com and many others you will be able to check out once the urban.metroideas.com will be ready.

The main impact the blog has made on me, is realizing how much I really enjoy, actually LOVE cooking and seeing people’s reactions to my foods.

A good friend and blogger http://apieceofnews.blogspot.com/ may be my best inspiration and the one that encourages me the most. Asides from her the site halfhourmeals.com is filled with food lovers who inspire me tremendously, taught me a lot about blogging and food, how to take good photos and so on.
