Interview with Calli from “Make it Do”
“Make it Do”

I want to share the wisdom I am learning from my grandmother. She was resourceful and cheerful even when times were hard. “Make it Do”

I started my blog in March of 2009.

I write about being resourceful and using things I have to create wonderful things. I write about crafting, sewing, cooking and cleaning on a budget. (But budget doesn’t have to mean cheap… I love low cost and high style!)

Pioneer Women is one of my favorite blogs. I love her down to earth ideas and she makes me laugh almost daily.
I read Nie Nie Dialogues to be inspired that we can overcome even the worst challenges.
I love creative sites like Wee Wonderfuls, Made by Rae, and Ali Edwards.

Have a long term plan, be consistent and respond to your readers.

I love to respond to comments. I really feel connected to the people who read my blog.

I have a lot of friend and family who read my blog. My dad reads early every morning and calls me with edits.

I visit Martha Stewart and Split Coast Stampers, but I am not a frequent visitor.

I write from home. I post Monday through Friday and try to have my post up at 5:00 am. Which means I finish the post the day before.

I spend about about 2 hours a day at the computer. I spend more than that creating projects and documenting them.

No.

I have heard about blogging for years. Getting started was about getting inspired.

Ali Edwards was the first blog I read consistently.

I am inspired by my Grandmother, who grew up in the 1930′s. She was cheerful and resourceful even when times were hard. She knew how to make things beautiful with very little money. I am also inspired by my Mother who is incredibly creative and hard working.

No.

I have made so many connections and friendships thanks to Make it Do. It also inspires me to be creative everyday. I love creating Make it Do.
