So this is life

I blog as a release & to share my journey after losing my first born son Landan. Landan was 3yrs old when he passed away from Meningococcal Meningitis, so it’s also a way for me to spread awareness about how deadly Meningitis is.

I also blog about what life is like having another child after you’ve already lost one.

I started blogging in 2006, a month after my son passed away. I only blogged sporadically then, it wasn’t until recently that I became a more active blogger.

I don’t feel like I have a topic that I “normally” blog about, well except for my boys. I blog about a variety of different things, most being family life.

Some of my favorite blogs to read are:
MckMama
Lynette Kraft
Kelly’s Korner
Kayleigh’s Story

To just “stick with it” blogging feels really slow in the beginning, until you’ve built up an audience. I still don’t have that big of an audience & have found myself struggling recently about what I want to post. But I’m just going to jump back in & get started again.

I’ve not yet had many commenters on my blog, besides friends that I chat with through MySpace.

Yes, I know that my mom check’s in, as do a few other friends.

Justmommies.com – LOVE that site!

I blog at home & the hours vary!

Everynight I check in on my favorite blogs. I’m usually sifting through them for a few hours because I’ll click on their favorite blogs as well most of the time.

I’ve never used Technorati to search for blogs yet, but I do have mine listed their.

Wow, I’m not sure I even remember. I think it was when I was chatting with an “angel” friend of mine & she showed me her blog, so I decided to try it out for myself.

I honestly don’t recall. Probably a friends blog.

My family & friends. It’s a rough path to travel down, having lost a child. You learn who your true friends are & that every moment is precious. I wish I didn’t have to learn that lesson through losing a child, but I’m so thankful for the family & friends that have stuck by my side & the new friends I continue to meet on this path.

Blogging has allowed me to get out my feelings as apposed to keeping them locked inside. I struggle with anxiety as a result of losing my son – so it allows me to get out my anxious feelings. It also allows me to share what’s going on in our lives with family & friends that I might not talk to on a regular basis.
