Keeping it Simple

I started blogging in October 2008 after a friend kept bugging me to start, but I always resisted. I picked up the laptop one night out of the blue and got started! Not sure what came over me… but I’m glad that I did! I’ve always been a journaller… now I just share what I’m learning in my days with others instead of keeping it all to myself!

I blog about family life in Ontario Canada, kids, marriage, faith, compassion, my highs, my lows… I try to just be honest, hoping that others will relate in one way shape or form (or is it really just me?)… we sometimes just need to talk about stuff to not feel so isolated (or crazy!) as moms! So it can be light, funny, practical, or more serious in nature… it’s just all real life stuff.

They were indeed my first subscribers and continue to read on, along with the Mom’s Moments subscribers (www.momsmoments.ca) – many of whom in the early days were offline friends! Makes it interesting to have such a diverse group of people reading along! It keeps me real and down to earth!

That would be my dear friend Anna’s blog, Living in the Moments.

Yes, two:

http://www.momsmoments.ca
Mom’s Moments reaches out to inspire women physically, emotionally and spiritually, by encouraging them through newsletters and blogs, equipping them through practical articles and online resources and empowering them by giving them a voice to share their resources and stories.

http://www.deepermoments.ca
Deeper Moments was created as an extension of Mom’s Moments with more of a faith focus for those who want to seek God more in their days and grow closer to Jesus, while allowing Mom’s Moments to appeal to all moms regardless of their beliefs or backgrounds so that no one feels excluded from the sharing of stories and ideas to build each other up as moms!

I find that it’s easy to rush through life – which is scary with the kids growing so fast! Stopping to blog helps me to slow down, refocus, get my priorities straight, and not forget those lessons that I learn in my busy days. I think it helps me to be more intentional as a mom, wife, friend, and woman.
