I want to capture these moments and share them with other parents who are going through similar experiences. For many years I felt very alone. Blogging has opened a new world of support for me.

I started blogging February of 2007. I often wish I would have started when Maizie was a baby. It would have given me more support and people would be amazed to see how far she has come.

I blog a lot about my days with Maizie, homeschooling, Autism, cyclical vomiting syndrome, adoption and struggling to keep ‘who you are’ amidst caregiving.

This blog captures the many beautiful of Autism. Families are invited to share their photos.

Have fun with it! Be honest and people will relate to you. Photographs can make a blog a lot more interesting. Try not to have posts be too wordy or long.

I don’t comment back as much as I want to. Sometimes I may e-mail someone in regards to a comment or write about comments in the next post. I tried responding to every comment but it became quite stressful. It is hard for me to find the time to blog so sometimes I can’t do all the things people like in a blog.

Yes, my parents and friends read my blog. I encourage them to do so since I hate talking on the telephone.

Autism Hub.

In the living room while watching television after Maizie is in bed. Usually about eleven at night. It keeps me up later than I like but it is worth it. I would love to be able to blog more during the day but I usually don’t feel “inspired” at that time and Maizie is a constant “distraction”.
Now that Maizie is attending a special school for children with Autism I am finding more time to blog during the day and getting to bed earlier!

I spend about two hours a day blogging and reading and commenting on other blogs. I try to have at least two days a week where I don’t even open my lap top. Those days are hard for me. I love blogging.

Yes, I use Technorati and Feed Burner. I am a member of Autism Hub.

Someone was telling me about their blog shortly before I began mine. I was looking for a creative outlet and decided to give it a try.

I don’t remember the exact blog but it was about puppies.

Getting out and doing fun stuff with my family. Reading books and film. Mostly, being with friends who are upbeat and fun.

My daughter has a blog that we currently keep private. I help her a lot with her blog as well.

I love blogging. I used to see a counselor every week. I went primarily to talk about Maizie and bounce ideas around or vent. I think over time even my counselor grew bored with me talking. Once I began blogging I realized I did not need counseling anymore. I have met people in similar situations through blogging. I get great ideas for helping Maizie. Especially from adults with Autism. I avoid negative blogs where they are debating Autism or other topics. I don’t need the energy drain.
