Bebe au Lait was founded in 2004 by Claire Ekelund. Claire had a problem: She wanted to be able to breastfeed at professional soccer player husband Ronnie Ekelund’s very public soccer games without missing out on the action, and without exposing herself to thousands of soccer fans. A nursing cover was needed, but the only available covers at the time were difficult to find and unsightly. Claire designed her prototype (Nicknamed the “Hooter Hider” by a male friend), and the company was founded.

Bebe au Lait and Hooter Hiders nursing covers have since gained international recognition. Bebe au Lait nursing covers are available in hundreds of unique baby boutiques, as well as large retail stores such as Nordstrom. Bebe au Lait products are also available in several online stores, as well as through Bebe au Lait’s website.
